About the Charitable Gift Funds Canada Foundation (CGFCF)


The Charitable Gift Funds Canada Foundation is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a tax-exempt, charitable public foundation in accordance with the Income Tax Act. The Foundation helps individuals, families, business enterprises and not-for-profit organizations establish and build perpetual charitable gift funds from which to financially support, from time to time, worthwhile community projects, services and organizations across the country.

The Foundation is able to receive and process charitable gift contributions in all 10 provinces and three territories. The CGFCF provides important administrative and philanthropic services to financial service providers using PlanGivCapital, Ltd.’s Charitable Gift Fund Program.

The Charitable Gift Funds Canada Foundation (CGFCF) has chosen PlanGivCapital, Ltd. as
its administrative services provider. Using the same PlanGivCapital administrative services and support system, financial service providers can now offer a private-labelled charitable gift fund program to clients.

When your advisor's client invests in the private-labelled, Charitable Gift Fund Program offered by your firm, the contribution flows through to the CGFCF. The Foundation issues an official donation receipt in the name of your advisor's client. Then the CGFCF invests the contributed proceeds in your firm's pre-approved investment vehicles and over time, distributes grants to qualifying non-profit organizations as recommended by your client donor.
